Why Wash Your Face
The first step to clear skin is always a good cleansing routine! Read on to found out why.
Once you find out what kind of skin you have and what type of products to use, it’s important to follow a good cleansing routine. We recommend washing two times a day – once in the morning and once at night.
Your Morning Face Wash:
While you sleep, oil and dead skin cells build up and can clog your pores. Washing your face first thing in the morning removes whatever settled in your skin overnight. If you use a cleanser with an anti-acne ingredient, it will help get rid of pimples and blackheads, and keep new ones from forming. Another plus: washing in the morning can help wake you up! And feeling refreshed is always a great way to start the day.
Your Night Time Cleanse:
So you washed your face in the morning. Why wash again at night? Because you’ll want to get rid of all the dirt and oil that settled in your pores throughout the day. Think about it. Do you wear make-up? Do you touch your face often, exposing your skin to more bacteria and dirt? Imagine leaving all that grime on your skin while you sleep. No thanks!
Avoid over-washing which can cause dry skin!
Unless recommended by a doctor, washing more than twice a day is a no-no. It can over-dry your skin. Why is that a bad thing? Because your face needs some oil to stay healthy and moisturised. If you dry out your skin, your body overcompensates and produces even more oil – which could lead to a breakout! The key to a great cleansing routine – and clear skin – is always balance.
Different Skin Types
Is your skin oily, dry, combination, sensitive or normal? Knowing the answer to this important question can help you pick the right products and cleansing routines, and take better care of your skin.
